ADVOCACY TOOLKIT

Support Our Advocacy in the FY 26-27 State Budget!

This Ohio Children’s Alliance toolkit is focused on equipping our members and partners to advocate for key priorities in the state budget, House Bill 96 — specifically, protecting the future of Ohio’s foster care system and maintaining support for the OhioRISE program.

Our state is at a critical juncture. The proposed changes to foster care funding would be the most significant in decades, and the future of OhioRISE is being questioned despite strong outcomes. The voices of providers, families, and advocates are needed now more than ever.

These resources will help ensure your voice is heard.

How to Take Action

We are asking our supporters to contact their State Senators before the amendment deadline on May 16. Use email, social media, letters to the editor, and more to make your voice count.

Our priorities:

  • Replace the proposed rate card system with a legislator-led workgroup on foster care funding (Amendment SC0716)

  • Protect OhioRISE, which serves more than 46,000 children with complex behavioral health needs

You can take action in just a few clicks. Call or email your State Senator using our HB 96 Advocacy Platform, and explore additional resources below.
